Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum
München, Bayern
Karl Valentin, Munich's great comedian, has a museum all to himself inside the Isartor, a surviving piece of the old city fortifications. It mixes waxworks-style display, pub and stage, in the spirit of Valentin's own Ritterspelunke. Further rooms honour his stage partner Liesl Karlstadt, with a small cabinet of her own on the second floor, and the tradition of Munich's folk singers. The displays extend into the gate's north tower.
