Urwelt-Museum Oberfranken

Bayreuth, Bayern

Fossils, rocks and minerals from Upper Franconia form the core of this natural history museum, which tells the story of both the living and the non-living nature of the region. The collection grew out of a natural history cabinet founded in 1833, which began with some 19,000 fossils and over 3,000 minerals and rocks. Today the museum stands in the centre of Bayreuth.
