U-Boot-Bunker Valentin

Bremen, Freie Hansestadt Bremen

This vast bunker on the Weser was built from 1943 to 1945 using forced labour, and thousands died in the process. It was meant for assembling Type XXI U-boats and was about 95 percent complete, but production never began. Today it is a memorial to the Kriegsmarine's largest armaments project and its victims.
