Overbeck-Museum

Bremen, Freie Hansestadt Bremen

Fritz Overbeck was one of the painters who founded the Worpswede artists' colony, and in Bremen-Vegesack he and his wife, the painter Hermine Overbeck-Rohte, have a museum of their own. It is the only one in the city of Bremen devoted to the couple. It occupies the listed Old Packhouse on Alte Hafenstraße, where a dwelling thought to date from around 1750 was joined by the packhouse about a century later. The KITO cultural centre shares the building.
