Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum
Innsbruck, Tirol
In a former Franciscan monastery beside Innsbruck's Hofkirche, this museum shows folk art and crafts from across Tyrol: traditional costumes, household items, glass, pottery, farmhouse furniture, textiles, tools and metalwork. Restored wood-panelled rooms from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods come from old farms and noble houses. A large collection of nativity scenes goes back to the 18th century. The wings surround an arcaded Renaissance courtyard.
