Innsbruck, Tirol
The Ferdinandeum is Tyrol's main regional museum, tracing the history, art and craftsmanship of the region across the centuries. Its collections run from prehistory through the Roman era to the early Middle Ages, and from Romanesque and Gothic art to the modern period. The museum was founded in 1823, and its building in Innsbruck dates from the mid-19th century, with an extension added later in the same century.
