Stadtmuseum Meißen

Meißen, Sachsen

Meissen's town history is told here in the old town, in a neo-Gothic house, a cloister and the former Franciscan church of St Peter and Paul. The focus is on the region's ceramics and porcelain, alongside economic, legal and art history. The cloister holds grave monuments from four centuries, while the church shows original drawings of the Nibelungen legend by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld. Medieval and later religious sculptures from the Otto Horn collection add to the visit.
