Dommuseum Meißen

Meißen, Sachsen

Five medieval rooms inside Meissen Cathedral tell over 1,000 years of its history, with explanatory videos and media stations that suit children too. The Great Sacristy holds canons' robes, sacred objects and two painted panels from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder. The tour also leads behind the scenes into vaulted spaces, the chapter room and the lapidarium. You will also learn what part the Meissen bishopric played in the development of the German language.
