Staatsgalerie Würzburg
Würzburg, Bayern
In the north wing of the Würzburg Residence hangs Venetian painting of the 17th and 18th centuries, along with works closely related to it. Particularly worth seeing are pieces by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and his son Giandomenico from their years in Würzburg. The oval gallery hall was built in 1770 as an opera theatre and became a gallery only in 1931/32.
