It was in this building that Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered X-rays in 1895. The memorial occupies the corridors and two laboratory rooms on the ground floor of the university's former Physics Institute. On show are historical instruments and apparatus along with original documents on the work that earned Röntgen the first Nobel Prize in physics. The building is now used by the University of Applied Sciences.
