The main building stands in Smetanovy sady in Uherské Hradiště and holds a modern multimedia exhibition on the Slovácko region. The museum has focused on ethnography and archaeology from the start, later adding fine art and history. Temporary exhibitions are held here, and there is a library. The house, built in 1801-1803 for a shooting society, has served the museum since 1931. Further sites lie in nearby villages.
