Founded in 1814, the Opava museum is the oldest in the Czech Republic and among its largest. Its collections cover natural history, archaeology, history, art and military history, mostly from Silesia and northern and north-eastern Moravia. Expect minerals, geology, fossils, botany, zoology, ethnography and coins. The museum also looks after other heritage sites in the area.
