Schwedenspeicher-Museum
Stade, Niedersachsen
A Baroque brick warehouse by Stade's old Hanseatic harbour houses this regional museum on the archaeology and history of the Elbe-Weser area and of Stade itself. The building dates from the town's Swedish period in the later 17th century, when it served as the garrison's provisions store, and it is an important Baroque monument in northern Europe.
