Schwäbisches Turmuhrenmuseum

Mindelheim, Bayern

Here you can see tower clocks in their natural setting: this small museum occupies the former Silvesterkirche and its Kappelturm in Mindelheim, with a large working clock on each floor of the tower. Over 50 clocks from the 16th to the early 20th century are shown, most still running. Highlights include a pendulum more than nine metres long that ticks once every five seconds, an abbey clock from Füssen dated 1750, and a replica of an astronomical clock of 1529.
