Schwäbisches Handwerkermuseum

Augsburg, Bayern

Workshops of vanished trades have been recreated here in detail: barber-surgeon, saddler, shoemaker, watchmaker, baker, bookbinder and passementerie maker. The original furnishings, tools and materials were gathered from all over Swabia. A separate section is devoted to the guilds, with guild coats of arms, guild stones and guild chests. The museum occupies an 18th-century waterworks master's house near the Red Gate.
