Schleiper Hammer

Kierspe, Nordrhein-Westfalen

A former hammer works in the Schleipe valley, a side valley of the Volme, brings 1930s wide-ware forging back to life. In the smithy, spring and drop hammers and a trimming shear are in working order; the locksmith's shop adds a band saw, milling, shaping and planing machines, punches and a lathe. A second section covers the early days of Bakelite pressing in the upper Volme valley.
