Above Bodenmais rises the Silberberg, a rocky twin-peaked hill with wide views over the Bavarian Forest. Inside it lies a former mine that now opens to visitors as a show mine. Mining here is documented from 1463: first silver, later vitriol, and finally a red polishing powder.
