Roentgen-Museum Neuwied (Kreismuseum Neuwied)

Neuwied, Rheinland-Pfalz

Furniture and clocks of the 18th century are the heart of this museum of domestic culture. You will see work by Neuwied cabinetmakers Abraham and David Roentgen and clocks by Christian and Peter Kinzing. The building, put up in 1926–28 in a regional style expressly as a museum, has four floors with about 800 square metres of galleries and a garden with old trees. The collection began as an archaeological one in 1928.
