Rheinhessisches Fahrradmuseum

Gau-Algesheim, Rheinland-Pfalz

Five rooms trace the bicycle's development, from replicas of the running machines of Karl Drais and Anton Burg through a Michauline of around 1865 to a high-wheeler of 1886 and a safety bicycle of 1887. There are also everyday bikes for adults and children from the 20th century, plus racing and sports cycles of every discipline. Documents and a library show what cycling set in motion in technology and society.
