Residenz Ansbach

Ansbach, Bayern

Medieval walls lie behind this palace, which was rebuilt as a Baroque residence in the early 18th century. Its draw is the well-preserved state rooms, mostly by Leopoldo Retti, arranged as three separate apartments for the margrave, the margravine and guests. You will also find Carlo Carlone's ceiling fresco in the Festival Hall, a gallery of Rococo art, Meissen porcelain in the Mirror Cabinet, and in the Gothic Hall the largest collection of Ansbach faience and porcelain.
