Regionalne Muzeum Młodej Polski "Rydlówka"

Kraków, małopolskie

This manor house in Bronowice Małe, now part of Kraków, is where the poet Lucjan Rydel married Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna, a peasant's daughter, in November 1900. Stanisław Wyspiański turned the wedding into his play The Wedding, so a visit brings you to the real setting behind a classic of Polish drama. The painter Włodzimierz Tetmajer built the house in 1894, and a museum has been open here since 1969, devoted to the Young Poland era and the artistic circle of Bronowice.
