Quadrat Bottrop

Bottrop, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Set in Bottrop's Stadtgarten, this museum began as a local history museum and grew several times to house a large collection devoted to Josef Albers, the artist born in Bottrop. He gave the town some of his own works in 1970, and the collection grew from there. Among the older holdings is the skeleton of a forest bison, found near Gladbeck in 1958.
