Pracownia-Muzeum Józefa Ignacego Kraszewskiego w Poznaniu

Poznań, wielkopolskie

Housed in a renovated townhouse on Wroniecka Street, this museum grew from the collection of Marian Walczak, a Poznań artificial-flower maker who spent thirty years gathering mementos of the writer Józef Ignacy Kraszewski. It holds nearly 3,000 volumes of 19th- and 20th-century editions, photographs, sculptures, medals and prints. The highlight is Kraszewski's Study, with gifts from his 50th jubilee, including an embroidered armchair bearing the arms of twelve Greater Poland towns.
