The river pearl mussel is the star here. The museum tells the story of pearl fishing in the Vogtland and shows shimmering mother-of-pearl pieces made from mussel and snail shells. A historic half-timbered building is joined by a new wing whose shape is inspired by the mussel. Visitors can also pick up tourist information about Adorf and the Vogtland.
