Papenhof mit Hofraum, Wohnhaus und Einfriedung

Barth, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

One of the oldest surviving secular buildings in Western Pomerania, the Papenhof stands in the centre of Barth, just west of St. Mary's Church. The late 15th-century brick house carries timber framing from 1585, with fragments of the Renaissance façade still preserved. Inside you find original building elements from five centuries and learn how the house served as a Kaland house, noble residence and townhouse, and what traces it holds of the Pomeranian Reformation.
