Opfermoor Niederdorla

Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis, Thüringen

A shallow lake near Niederdorla was once a prehistoric cult site, used from the Hallstatt period into the Migration Age. Following excavations from 1957 to 1964, an open-air museum shows reconstructed shrines and a rebuilt village. Finds from the bog are displayed in the Opfermoor museum in Niederdorla.
