Obrazárna Pražského hradu

Praha, Praha

Old master paintings hang on the second courtyard of Prague Castle, in a collection first gathered by Emperor Rudolf II in the late 16th century. You will see German, Italian and Netherlandish Renaissance and Mannerist works, plus Central European and Dutch Baroque. After Rudolf's death the collection was repeatedly sold off and plundered, so today's paintings from the 15th to 18th centuries come only partly from his original holdings.
