The museum occupies the 14th-century Brodnica Gate, one of the surviving pieces of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie's old town walls. Its collections cover the history and folk culture of the Lubawa region: prehistoric stone tools, medieval weapons, coins and pottery, and everyday objects and farm tools from the 19th and 20th centuries.
