Muzeum – Zamek w Łańcucie

Łańcut, podkarpackie

This castle in Łańcut was once a magnate's residence and is now open to visitors as a museum. After the war it stood in ruins, partly used as a holiday home, and its surviving collections were first deposited in other museums. It opened to the public in 1952. One story is worth knowing: in 1944 a sign reading Museum of the Polish Nation was painted on its walls, which helped save it from Soviet devastation.
