Muzeum Przyrody i Techniki w Starachowicach

Starachowice, świętokrzyskie

Spread over eight hectares of a former ironworks, this museum lets you walk through industrial heritage. You can see the surviving engine house and casting hall of the 1841 blast-furnace works, and the 1899 Great Blast Furnace, blown out in 1968, with its rail tracks and charging tower. Machinery includes a piston blower made in Riga and a hand crane from 1898. A separate display covers iron ore mining.
