Muzeum Pożarnictwa w Alwerni

powiat chrzanowski, małopolskie

Collecting began in 1953, and this is the oldest fire museum in Poland open to visitors. Horse-drawn fire wagons from 1910 to 1913 stand beside a 1926 Mercedes and a 1936 Polski Fiat, with hand pumps, motor pumps, helmets, axes and banners. Display cases add posters, medals, decorations and photographs, plus items on the history of Alwernia and its Bernardine monastery.
