Muzeum Niepodległości w Warszawie

Warszawa, mazowieckie

This museum follows Poland's long struggle for statehood, from the Kościuszko Uprising to the present day. Its main site is the Przebendowski Palace on Solidarity Avenue, which housed a Lenin museum in communist times. Permanent exhibitions cover the history of Poland's coat of arms, the fight for independence and borders in 1914–1921, and the former eastern borderlands. Branches at sites of memory include the Warsaw Citadel's X Pavilion, Pawiak Prison, the Mausoleum of Struggle and Martyrdom, and the Battle of Warsaw museum in Radzymin.
