Kraków's main art museum holds Polish, European and non-European works: paintings, prints, sculpture, decorative arts, coins, early printed books and national memorabilia. The Main Building on Aleja 3 Maja was begun in 1934 and finished only in 1992. The museum also runs branches around the city, including the Cloth Hall on the Main Square, where its first rooms were opened.
