Muzeum Czynu Zbrojnego Żywiecczyzny w Żywcu

Żywiec, śląskie

Housed in a German air-raid shelter built in 1944, this museum shows how people from the Żywiec region took part in the armed conflicts of the 20th century, from both world wars to the Polish-Soviet and Polish-Czechoslovak wars. Much of the display covers the Nazi occupation, the resistance and partisan fighting, and there is a reconstructed staff room of a National Defence Battalion officer from September 1939. The exhibits come from private collections. It is open on weekdays.
