Olsztyn, warmińsko-mazurskie

Spread across three restored townhouses near St James's Basilica, this museum holds over five hundred objects on the history, liturgy and art of Warmia. The ground floor has paintings and sculpture dating from the turn of the 15th century, including Gothic Madonnas and altars from Pęciszewo and Sokolica, and a confessional from Tylża. Upstairs is decorative art, with gold chalices, reliquaries and monstrances, among them a 14th-century chalice donated by Bishop Sorbom.
