Museumsschule Hiddenhausen e.V.

This one-room village school from 1847 in Schweicheln-Bermbeck shows how rural children were taught in the late 19th century. You can see the classroom with wooden benches, slates and old teaching aids, and the teacher's modest home, complete with threshing hall and stable where he kept animals to feed his household. Outside are a farm garden and a school storehouse. Lessons stopped here in 1904, and the building later served as a home and refugee housing.
