Museumshof Göhren

Mönchgut, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

The farmstead of a Mönchgut fisherman-farmer shows what Göhren looked like before seaside tourism arrived. The grounds hold a dwelling house of about 1850, a pigsty, a barn with stables and the so-called black shed. The half-timbered barn dates in its core to around 1680. Tools from the daily work of fishing farmers and rural craftsmen are on show, including carriages and carts. It is the oldest open-air museum on Rügen.
