Museumsdorf Cloppenburg

Cloppenburg, Niedersachsen

This open-air museum shows how people in rural Lower Saxony once built and lived, through faithfully documented examples of village architecture and everyday culture. It was laid out in 1934, opened in 1936, and is among the oldest open-air museums in Germany. The Quatmannshof farm, destroyed in the war, was rebuilt true to the original by 1962. Allow enough time for a long stroll through the village.
