Museum und Technisches Denkmal Eisenhammer Dorfchemnitz

A historic hammer works that still runs on water power, the Eisenhammer in Dorfchemnitz was granted its operating right as early as 1365. It began with ore smelting and later turned to casting and forging iron. A rich stock of original tools gives a real picture of the hammersmiths' lives. The grounds also hold a local history room and a chair factory with its original machinery, both open by prior arrangement, and the Eisernes Dreieck circular trail starts nearby.
