Museum Lützen 1632
Lützen, Sachsen-Anhalt
On 6 November 1632 two armies of about 35,000 soldiers met at Lützen, and the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf fell. The museum shows historical artefacts from the Thirty Years' War and an exhibited mass grave that also serves as a memorial. It documents the suffering of the dead and works as both a place of learning and a place of remembrance.
