Düsseldorf's municipal art museum stands in the Ehrenhof, a complex of buildings from 1925/26 designed by Wilhelm Kreis. Its roots reach back a long way: the collection draws on holdings of the art academy and on drawings of the Düsseldorf school of painting. The Hentrich glass museum is part of the same site.
