Museum der Badekultur

Zülpich, Nordrhein-Westfalen

On the Mühlenberg in Zülpich stands a Roman bathhouse in remarkably good condition. Walls over 1.5 metres high, water basins and the heating system survive, because the ruins lay hidden for centuries beneath the graveyard next to St. Peter's church. Workers found them in 1929 while laying a sewer. The museum explores bathing culture and takes you through the ancient rooms.
