Bergbaumuseum Mechernich

Mechernich, Nordrhein-Westfalen

The museum sits on the old grounds of the Günnersdorf mine, where lead mining in the Eifel ended in 1957. A workshop exhibition shows tools and photographs from lead mining, and a visitor mine, open since 1995, lets you go underground. You can also walk the former site of the Mechernicher Werke company.
