The castle tells the history of the County of Hartenstein, including the Saxon Prince Abduction. Displays include a large collection of weapons, suits of armour, legal antiquities and hunting trophies, along with items on everyday life in the region. The museum can only be visited on a guided tour, which starts at the castle gate.
