Mühlenweg Zederhaus

Zederhaus, Salzburg

Nine mills once stood along the Dorfergraben in Zederhaus, and four of them have been restored to house the exhibition Mühlen-Leben. A circular walk of about an hour and a half leads from the village past five information stops, explaining things like what a Gmachlmühle is and what mills meant for daily life and technology. The Esser mill shows how grain becomes bread, while the old granaries cover growing and harvesting grain at 1,200 metres. Children can look for the mill mouse hidden on each panel.
