Mühlenhof-Freilichtmuseum Münster

Münster, Nordrhein-Westfalen

About 30 historic buildings spread over five hectares near the Aasee show four centuries of farming and craft life in the Münster region. The museum opened in 1961 with a post windmill from 1748. Farmhouses, a village school of 1823, a farm chapel of 1840, a weaver's cottage and a smithy, where two smiths still work, followed. The interiors hold period furnishings, and the farm shop sells honey from the museum's own beehouse.
