Mozarthaus St. Gilgen

St. Gilgen, Salzburg

Mozart's mother, Anna Maria Pertl, was born in this house in 1720, and the museum is devoted to her and to Wolfgang's older sister, Nannerl. The building served as the district court of St. Gilgen and was rebuilt between 1718 and 1720 by Mozart's grandfather. Above the entrance portal, a coat of arms with a chronogram records the year 1720.
