Městské muzeum Velvary

Velvary, Středočeský kraj

Velvary's town museum is spread over several buildings. The main one, on Pražská street, holds a local history exhibition, paintings by Jiří Kars and, in the courtyard, an interactive display on the beginnings of Czech volunteer firefighting. The Prague Gate shows First World War photographs by Jindřich Bišický and explains the town's old fortifications, and a camera obscura can be seen on request. Further displays on gingerbread with paintings by Jiří Corvin, and an ethnographic one, are in the granary gallery.
