Meißener Porzellan-Sammlung Stiftung Ernst Schneider

Oberschleißheim, Bayern

Schloss Lustheim, just outside Munich in Oberschleißheim, houses a large collection of Meissen porcelain donated to the State of Bavaria by Ernst Schneider and displayed here since 1971. More than 2,000 pieces show the range of what the manufactory produced at its height in the 18th century. Only the porcelain collection in Dresden's Zwinger is comparable in scale. The palace is also the oldest branch of the Bavarian National Museum.
