The German Volcano Museum shows how volcanism around the Laacher See shaped the landscape. It explains the history of volcanic activity and the region's geological origins. In its science centre, visitors can investigate geological and volcanological phenomena for themselves. It stands in Niedermendig and is part of the Vulkanpark.
